The company was first registered in 1993, as Altec Lansing Australia, acting as the Australian distributor for Altec Lansing (USA). Our product range covered car audio speakers and amplifiers through to home theater speaker systems and hi quality floor standing speakers.
Around the time of the demise of the Altec Lansing home and car audio divisions in the mid 90’s the name changed to R.M. Audio (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.
- 1997 R.M. Audio began distribution for a fledgling Italian company called Elettromedia who produced a range of amplifiers branded Audison. In July 2010 after 13 years and having grown the Audison, Hertz & Connection Audison brands in to one of the countries most recognizable brands, R.M. Audio ceased acting as Australian distributor.
- 1999 R.M. Audio acquired the agency for the Morel home and car audio lines. Morel are a recognized world leader in the development of specialty speakers.
- January 2011 we announced that R.M. Audio had acquired the distribution rights for British amplifier manufacturer Genesis I.C.E (In Car Entertainment).Genesis manufacture a range of amplifiers to exacting standards that we believe to be as good or better than any amplifier brand we have ever represented, they are a 100% British designed and manufactured product that covers a wide spectrum of price points and configuration opportunities.
